Hi guys,
I'm just wondering if the following parts the same/different between GTV (2L) and GTV6?
Engine Mounts
Front flywheel
Bellhouse
Drive shaft
If they are different, would ones from a 2.5L V6 Alfa 75 be the same as a GTV6?
Anything else I would need to put a V6 in my GTV?
Cheers,
Martin
I'm not sure about the tail shaft and bellhousing, but the GTV6 engine mounts and front flywheel are definitely different to the GTV items. I suspect tailshaft and bellhousing will be different as well but i'm not sure.
GTV6 bellhousing and front flywheel would be the same 75/90 V6.
the tailshaft is bigger for the v6 to cope with more power
if i was you, and up grading a gtv4 to a six i would replace the entire under car being you would want bigger brakes better gearbox ect
A tiny point..
Tranaxles dont have bell housings. It's actually a rear engine mount.
...doesn't matter where you go there's always a smart arse isnt there? :)
A moot point...
105's have a bell housing that encapsulates the clutch and couples up the gearbox to the engine.
Transaxles don't have bell housings.
Might look like one but it is actually a rear engine mount only.
The thing around the transaxle clutch is a clutch housing but I am certain you know that and so once again no bell housing.

Looks like a bell housing :P
Fair enough, from now on I shall call it a rear engine mount
Thanks for the replies guys, usefull info :)
10 points to who can tell me what the starter motor is mounted to on a 116?
Starter is bolted to the "rear cover" (page 01-88/15 of December 1985 factory manual).
The flywheel housing.
Choderboy for what's its worth, I thought you gave Smity42 some excellent advice in the first place and calling it a bell housing or a rear engine mount doesn't take anything away from that.
