Title: Carb synchroniser
Post by: bonkfrog on April 19, 2010, 12:55:16 PM
What have others used to synchronise carburettors (Dell'Orto)? I guess I could make up something but something neat, easy to use & compact would be nice. Any ideas out there?

P.S. Cheap would be nice, too.

I just bought one of these from the web, haven't had a chance to use it yet though...

I had an earlier model of that tool by the same manufacturer 20yrs ago, used it for years, it was a great.
even if a little irregular with readings, by that I mean you could set the carbs up and turn the car off and sometimes when you restarted the car the readings would be different and will also showup the very smallest of air leaks in the induction system [ rubber carb mounts and extension tube gaskets ]
I bought it from a motorcycle shop after seeing a tech with one in the workshop, the old one was a little tricky to set as up you had to balance the mercury before each use and after a while learnt to balance the carbs by ear, just as a comparison the carb balancer cost me $130 in 1989 what are they worth now.
