Hi all
I'm after recommendations on where I can take my 156 to have my recently purchased Eibach springs/shocks/anti-roll bars installed, and get 4 new tyres and a good alignment. Prefer somewhere handy so looking around Brisbane central or the North-side of the city. I notice that Leda Suspension in Brendale are club sponsors, any feedback on them? If not, any other recommendations? Doesn't need to be a high-end specialist place, a Bob Jane or Jax which has served you well would do me fine.
Also keen on suggestions for tyres - will be looking for 205/55 16, obviously after the best performance I can get but also want something that's not too noisy. Budget is probably $200/tyre max, but for the right tyre there will be some flexibility with this.
Any feedback very welcome.

Not all that familiar with Alfa specialists in Brisbane but would suggest that your first step would be to talk to Qld AROCA members and accept their advice. Richard Anderson at Avanti Motors is a font of knowledge about Alfas so I would suggest that you have a chat to Richard as well before heading off to your nearest corner store. Club sponsors are also worth supporting. Talk to club members with the same model Alfa as yours and also to others who are doing what you seem keen on doing.

I know of Avanti and have heard others rate them highly, are they familiar with 147s/156s and the like? Thought they were more into older stuff, but not sure if that's what I was told or just an assumption on my part. I know the work I need done immediately isn't particularly difficult, but would be good to know what their experience with 156s is for ongoing servicing needs and repairs.
They're certainly conveniently located for me so I'm keen to hear any further comments.

Rory I can't offer any useful suggestions re servicing options in your neck of the wood, but for tyres, well I just recently fitted a set of Pirelli P7 205x55x16 to replace the Michelin Pilots that were on my '03 JTS Sportwagon. They feel great so far, are not noisy, unlike the Michelins which had started to become noisy towards the end of their life.
The price was less than $200 per tyre (I think around $170 ish) from Bob Janes. Total cost after balancing etc was about $900. With this I get a 12 month warrantee, and a free rotation, check of balance etc in 3 months time. Dave
Just got the Jax Tyres catalogue in the mail 205 55 16 Pirelli P7 for $190.
I think that is a good price, list price was a fair bit higher, maybe they are going to be superseded??
They work well on my 156.

That could well be so, as the deal I got from Bob Jane was a special price. I guess it pays to do a little looking around when hunting for new shoes for your toy.
