Hello there all,
Some Alfa pics from Phillip Island Historics on 21 March.
Fantastic sight and sound of the Alfetta 159 and the Tipo 33. Some great racing in the Gp Sc class.
Just about the entire Alfa club was there, every 20 metres you run into another member.
Phil Baskett (car 58) managed to be the first Alfa home in each of the Gp Sc races, 8th in the last race today, well done.
Other Vic members included Tony Hawker (car 81) and Nick Taylor (car 2). And Hung Do (car 43) (former Porsche driver who have now seen the light).

Enjoy!!!

I apologise now for the language, but fuck me what a fucken amazing weekend.
Have a look at this pic......http://picasaweb.google.com/neilchoi116/PhillipIslandHistoricsGpSAndAlfa21March2010#slideshow/5451036845155952690
I imagine there would be only a handful of times that a 159, a P3 and an 8C 35/C have been on the track in formation, let alone at such a beautiful location. And just after these cars came around, there was a T33 and a TZ1.
I'm glad I didn't miss out on this, can't imagine it will ever happen again. And yes, they do sound as good as you could imagine.
The Lancia Stratos was quite nice as well.
Sorry, forgot to say - excellent pics, thanks Neil.
What an amazing week - Alfa Island, and now Historics! Incredible fun... ;D
Here are more Alfa-focussed pics (with a few ring-ins..!)

Stuart Thomson helped me out on the weekend, a big thanks to him! He also stuck a camera in the car, here is the final couple of laps from Sundays race....just after the downpour.
Enjoy ;D I know I did!!

Phil.
Thats such a great video Phil, Especially the last lap - amazing wet/dry conditions!
Hi All,
http://tinyurl.com/yfbolpa
1567 photos of the weekend. Alfas only (unless I missed one). If you're not there I apologise, tried to get everyone, but may have missed some of the Group N and regularity guys. There's about 75 pages of photos, so it could take you some time to go through them. If you want a larger version of any of the photos, send me an email.
Also video from Phil Baskett's car in the third, somewhat wet race.

Video of Tony Hawker is loading, it'll come up on my Vimeo page.
Cheers
Stuart
nice work in changing conditions.
What a great couple of race weekends.
I didn't have enough time for a proper shakedown for the car and it developed an overheating issue (suspected head gasket on the way out) so the car couldn't go longer than 7 laps. In spite of that I had a ball fighting at the back of the field. Here are 2 videos of race 1 from inside Martyn Piercey's Alfa GTV, car #8 from WA, we swapped position about 6 times in between passing Ferrari and Porsches with me crossing the finish line by 0.1 of a second :P

Know what you mean Scott, would have loved to have been there to hear and see the action. Glad that pictures and videos are being posted so we too can see what it was like. Not the same but.... better than nothing. Thanks guys.
Looks like there were plenty of cameras around when the Alfetta was starting up:
More just for completeness :)
Well here is my video from the other end! ;D

Anyhow I'm sure I'll get in trouble for stealing his photos - his contact email address is on the photos...
Peter rang today and let me know that he's extending his Alfa Island discount offer for another two weeks - until Wed 21st April. This is a discount of 15% off orders from his set of Alfa Island photos.
In addition - if you are ordering photos from the Alfa Island set, the discount offer will also apply to any prints purchased from the PI Historics set (at the same time).
