Title: New arrivals in model range: White 159Ti + Ti-spec Brera
Post by: shiny_car on March 13, 2010, 07:14:51 AM
I've noticed that the 159Ti is now available in white! Having only seen overseas pics of these cars, I've considered them stunning looking. Now they've hit showroom floors locally.  8)

Plus, a fellow Alfista in Perth has reported the Brera is now available in Ti spec. I don't know if it actually has Ti badging, but it features Ti leather interior (electric black leather sports seats with red stitching; dark metal dash/steering wheel trims), red brake calipers, lowered, and 8C-inspired 19" wheels. So now it's even more of a head turner!

These pics are from a google search, but give you an idea of what to expect. And if you check carsales.com.au, you'll find examples of each for confirmation.

Well without a new model it may be a sales package put together to keep a place in the market.  I suppose a bit like the 156 Sport.  A sports pack on a 156 to maintain interest before the JTS model.

I think there is still going to be a bit of a wait until we see the new range of engines in the 159. Of interest will be the new 1750 TBI. A new turbo charged  200hp engine with  new fuel scavenging technology.

John is right, Alfa has made an art form out of having model updates without a new model. One only has to think of the alfetta sedan re incarnations over its model run. Limited editions , sportiva's etc. Matt Francis probably has the full encyclopeadia on this subject under his bed if anyone is interested

Nothing on the Alfa Romeo Australia website as yet !

White is a pleasant change to silver or red.

It is an amazing engine, I had every intention of buying the 3.2L V6 but I couldn't pass on the performance the 1.75L offers. It is lighter and tighter which translates to superior balance and handling. My last car was a Mazda RX8 which is revered for its perfect 50/50 weight distribution, this version of the 159 comes very close considering it is a practical four door sedan with a decent boot!

:)  A few people have commented that the 1750 TBI now available in coupe, spider and sedan is the engine that should have been there from the begining of this series.
