Title: 225/50 R tyres on a 6" rim?
Post by: Sheldon McIntosh on February 22, 2010, 10:11:00 PM
I've been running 205/50 R15 Yokohama R types on a 6" rim, but have acquired two 225/50 R15 Dunlops.  The tyre people I spoke to, and the websites I looked at, say that for a 225 a 7" rim is recommended but a 6" will suffice, but they are probably not taking into account the extra stress of turn one at PI at (insert current exaggerated speed here)....km/h.

Has anyone used this size tyre on a 6" wheel on the track?

Sure they will fit on but I would not do it. 7" minimum for 225's IMO.
