Title: 105 Body Work
Post by: 105 on January 26, 2010, 02:54:21 PM
Ciao,

Can anyone recommend a panel beater in the Bendigo region for the usual 105 body repairs (rusted sills, etc) ?

Thanks

Hi there 105.   I can understand the convenience of going local and may be there is someone there who does know 105's.

Perhaps it is worth taking the car to one of the Melbourne Alfa specialists panel beaters for an opinion or just getting the work done.  Previous posts suggest that you need the right solutions and knowledge in getting this job done appropriately and to your needs.

Good luck.

Hi

Fully agree with John's comments that you should source a specialist panelbeater for a 105 due to the understanding of rust & coach building skills! Would only consider Art on Wheels or Rankins in Victoria (both East Melb located) and both have rebuilt concourse winning AROCA (Vic) 105's. The transport to East Melb will be a small cost of the overall investment.

Warning though as will not be cheap to do properly.

Enjoy the motoring!

Paul

Mate, I too have a 105 in Bendigo. I discovered that one of the best alfa body crew are right here on our doorstep.

Euro Auto Works
Factory 1, 37-43 Collins St, Kangaroo Flat, VIC, 3555
Phone: (03) 5447 8692

They have been outstanding since I have used them for my 1750gtv, very reasonable price, wealth of knowledge and great guys to boot.

I would be going here before I went to Melbourne, but thats just my opinion. What is your car? might have seen you around town?

All you Melbourne boys might have to start bringing your cars up here?

Lucas.

I wanted to use them after recommendations here, but they didn't return phone calls reliably (if at all) or turn up on days they said they'd be visiting Melbourne. I can't deal with someone who's unavailable to talk to and can't make and keep meetings. I believe they're done excellent work though, and if you're local... go for it.

Paul Rankin worked his magic on my twin-spark 1750 coupe recently - and with parts bought from Milano's today I'll be able to get it back on the road soon hopefully!
