Title: Alfa Model Nos, VINs and Engine numbers
Post by: AlfaACT on January 25, 2010, 10:14:17 PM
Alfisti,

Can anyone point me to tables of vehicle IDs?
Tabulations of year, model, body & chasis codes are available (eg David Wright's Alfa Romeo Downunder)  but I have found none that include engine number ranges.
Do they exist?

Therefore, can we determine if a particular vehicle has the correct (if not original) engine type?

Corollary is: If I have an engine can I determine what it came from ... ?

As an example I came across an Alfetta GTV6 with an E# AR01911*....*. It suggests it has had a transplant - but what from: a 90, a 75, or possibly an imported Milano?

What IDs should we expect to see in the various models ...?

Ciao

There is a reference list that each State Club has for their use.  It was collated by Mr Tony McKone, the AROCA national Register Coordinator based in Sydney.

Get in touch with your local club first or Tony. Necessary links & details at AR Australian website.
