Title: water pump for stepnose 1600 gtv
Post by: Giovanni Mandarano on December 17, 2009, 07:40:21 PM
Hello to all Alfisti,

My pride and joy is a 1967 Giulia Sprint GT Veloce.  I had the engine rebuilt about 2 years ago.

I've noticed now that the water pump is slowly leaking.  I guess I need to replace it to avoid bearing damage.

I ordered this particular water pump from the UK (2 outlet and pully to accomodate an alternator).

Have others experienced such short lived water pumps?  Are there any suppliers (in Australia or overseas) that can be recommended.  I'm after the best quality water pump available.

Another reason why the water pump may have last so briefly was that I was unable to drive the car for the last 2 to 3 months (due to illness).  Perhaps being parked for that long buggered the water pump internals?

Any advice or guidance is much appreciate.

Regards,
Giovanni

Failure is common, especially after sitting. Buy them from Turin Imports in Adelaide.
