Title: Bizarre Air Con Behaviour - 156 JTS 2005
Post by: saratoga on November 05, 2009, 04:36:20 PM
It was a very hot 38 degree day in Sydney and my air conditioning decided to change the temps independantly to heat instead of cool.  The red temp indicators on the dials would just increase and begin to heat the car. It would revert to doing this evry 1/2 hour or so by itself after I reset it.

Has this occurred to anyone?? and if so what is the cause?
Cheers

I am not that familar with your HVAC system but I would first check sensors in dash and above. And check for a vacuum leak as opening/closing of doors and in this case water valve may be malfunctioning.

Of course it being Italian you can't discount memory retention...it is now Autumn afterall in Italy :)

You really should have a quick look first if you are mechanically competent then if no luck with something obvious, take it to an AROCA supported workshop/dealer.

Thanks, thought I would ask around first.  The car is in for regular service and they are going to have a quick look and report on what they find.
