I'm in Melbourne, and want 4 or 5 original 15" steel wheels for my Alfa.
Not in a tearing hurry, but will take up the best offer by the end of Nov.
You can always pick up a set of 15" Saab 900 steel wheels (should only be $20 each or less from a wrecker) as they are the correct bolt pattern for the 105, however you will have to get the centre holes machined slightly larger to fit the 105 hub.
Thanks for the info, but I want to fit the original hubcaps - I doubt they'd fit?
Yes the centre caps should fit no problems, here's a pic of a GTV with 15" Saab wheels with centre caps (not my car).

The saab wheels look great with the 2 litre centre cap but the 1750 centre cap won't fit
Yeah, they do look good, but I have the 1750 style caps.
Also, I'm told that in the march to bigger wheels, there's much less good rubber now being made in 15" now than there was. Is this an issue? Because it's the main reason I want to go to 15" from 14". What tyres do you recommend that are available in 15"?
Theres still a few performance tyres available in 15, for example in 195/55 15 theres Michelin Pilot Preceda PP2, Pirelli Dragon or Bridgestone Potenza RE001 etc. Most brands still list high performance road tyres in 15, whereas 14inch are now limited to entry level and touring (road) tyres.
Unless you go for Falken Azenis which are listed in 195/60 14.
Personally Im a fan of the Michelins, have heard the other 2 are pretty good.
My brother has some 15"/4.5" wheels available. They are currently fitted with Excellent (90% tread) Michelin XZX 165 SR 15's. I think he will seperate though. They are the second series wheels with the snap-on caps, not the early clip-on ones. Give me a call on 0407057806 if you are still interested..
Nigel
Thanks Nigel, will call when I get home the week after next.
I've got some nice series 1 1750 GTV steel wheels. I'll be taking one along to the specttacolo.
I have a set of 5 wheels, same if not similar to those in the pic (I cant remember). The guy I bought my gtv off gave them to me but I prefer my campagnolos. Having said that I did respray them in silver. Not sure about the tyres, I think they're a bit mix n match but with pretty decent tread on em. they may be 14's though..ill check tmrw.
ill take a photo tmrw n post it up.
Sorry...the wheels I refered to have been sold now :( Didn't realise you were interested..
That's what you get for being overseas and only sporadically connected ;-)
i know this is an old topic, but does anyone know how the offset from the SAAB 15" wheels compares to the original alfa 14" ones?, I'm trying to get rid of the addational scrub radious and resultant heavy steering that my current mags have on my road car.
Cliff
I fitted 195.55x15 tyres to my Super as these were the closest rolling circum. to the original and this has now given me an accurate speedo.
As others have written 14" tyres are still available but not if your want something better than a means of keeping rims off the road.
Colin
As far as offset goes what about separating the rims from centres and reweld with rquired offset. Probably need to compare the Alfa and Saab wheel offsets.
Do the 14 and 15" wheels have the same offset?

I believe these are the ones as discussed above but worth checking with seller before bidding.
Not sure $500 for steels is a great deal but if you can't find them elsewhere ...

If the 15" 105 steel wheels are still wanted I've a set of original 15x4.5" wheels in very good condition that I'll sell... PM me if you're still looking for some...
