Hi All,
just in case anyone is looking in WA for an Alfa and ends up here...
http://www.carsales.com.au/all-cars/dealer/details.aspx?R=7754975
Test drove it and took it down to Cileberti for an inspection..
A page and a bit of issues from the inspection
High points
1. catalytic convertor was removed!
2. Crunching into 1st
3. won't go into reverse without first shifting into 1st
4. after about 30minutes of running, won't go into or, once in, leave neutral (had to make sure it was in neutral when I parked it, else it _wouldn't_ start) - this automagically fixes itself after about 15minutes of rest.
5. leaks oil from selespeed pump
6. leaks oil from core plug near gearbox
7. has been in accident
8. left front suspension creaks badly
9. etc
despite this you can see the dealer is trying from almost 12k and claims his mechanics say its fine (suspect they are the ones getting him to sell it)
Be warned :)
Cheers
Bret
Good post always pays to have the vehicle checked out by a genuine mechanic.
How much did Leo charge you for the inspection and did you have to book it in?
John
$160
I did book, but only the day before.
Cheers
Bret
BTW - am still searching for a 156 selespeed sportwagon :)
