If you use the Red Book site www.redbook.com.au (http://www.redbook.com.au) you can get a better idea of the years tha model came in to Aus.
There are always a few 2002 models on the internet, check out Carsales as that covers a large segment of the market.
Also there are one or two 2004 models around from time to time and the odd 2005 model.
Also have a good look in our Buy/sell/Sway section as a 6 speed 156 V6 is for sale. The comments in that thread are self explanatory.
Cheers.
OK thanks :)
Hi SteveNZ,
I have very recently purchased a 2002 156 V6 6speed manual - it is truly a superb car.
When you find your car (as there are a couple on carsales.com.au) make sure you check for when the cambelt was replaced - this needs to be done within 60,000ks &/or 3years.(quoted $1,700 replacement)
Also you may find the bushes are worn on the front suspension - pretty typical for this model.
Factor in these repairs when you make an offer
Otherwise, mate, it's truly a little ripper of car - engine is like nothing else.
Cheers,
Claudio
Thanks
I have read the A/C is pretty lousy whch is a worry. What do you think?
i have a 156 monza 2.5 litre 6 speed manual for sale if you are interested.
cambelt, waterpump, tensioner and idler bearings all replaced about 4 months ago.

if intersted send me an email lhuc@optusnet.com.au

Steve, the aircon is regarded as a bit poor but I endeavour to park car in the shade so it does not heat up, and this year have not had any issues.
Even on one of the hottest daus, the car was ok.
In fact in summer, after about an hour on full, its a bit too cold it's a bit uncomfortable.
Cheers.
