Afternoon all,
thinking about putting a nice set of extractors on alfie. Just after some opinions on brand etc and what you have fitted and how you've found them.
cheers
Fitted a set of Graham Facey ones onto mine. Was hoping it would give it a slightly better note, wasn't really concerned with performance.
I got a huge surprise. More induction noise, cleaner sound and noticeably more grunt down low. Don't believe this particular set does much higher in the rev range (just my opinion though, you would have to ask someone who really knows what they are on about for the specifics of why one design produces power in different areas etc).
Overall hugely happy. Would i do it again? yes. But from a different manufacturer. I'm not unhappy with these, just want to give everything a try :D
Oh and i also got driven around in a car with a set of Vin's PACE extractors on it once. Amazing. But i'll leave that for someone else with first hand experience...
are you talking Alfetta or 105? in which case the only answer is PACE - Vin Sharp has been perfecting these over years. He advertises on the site and is an AROCA Vic life member
yeah I remember you telling me about them at the Dyno day Mat, but I never got the name. I think I'll look into getting them off Vin.
There's no need for concern on ruining the sound I've got at the moment is there? I'm too scared to touch the thing, can't see it getting any better..

It's a 116 Alfetta GTV 2.0...as per my photo
thanks lads.
now a long shot I know but i don't suppose anyone has a video or sound clip or something? ;D
Doesn't sound as good as that 90 that goes through before you though! ;D ;D
i agree with sheldon that sweet grunt of a 2.5 v6 blasting past the only thing that i could think of that sounds better than sheldons 90 is mine ;)
That does sound bloody nice actually, Chowder. What layout have you got?
This car had Vin Sharps PACE extractors as well - it does sound a bit like a 'bee' but they are very effective!
