Title: Gear stick hitting console in 105GTV
Post by: dfphoto on September 03, 2009, 07:58:10 PM
Hello fellow Alfa owners, have any of you come across the gear stick hitting the console in a 105 1750 GTV series one. When selecting 1st or 3rd gear the stick hits the rim around the gear hole before I believe the gear is fully engaged. Should I remove the console and the gear stick, heat it and give it a slight bend or where should I be looking. To remove the console it appears there are only a couple of screws into the lower part of the dash pad, and a couple of screws holding the heater controls in, is this correct.
Also I am still looking for some wheels for my car, minilites or similar would be nice but I am open to anything that is up for offer.
Thanks David

Hey no heating or bending required. The gear stick is adjustable to a certain degree where it bolts on to the selecter, but from your description you may just need to loosen the console and move it forward. I also will have some 15 inch Minilites available for sale soon, with nearly new Toyo Race/Road tyres.

Sorry David, my wheels are actually Superlites wth Kuhmo tyres. I need to hang on to them for a bit longer though.

Gary, I would be very interested in the superlites, Please email me with a price . I am not in a great hurry. I gather you would do the adjusting on the gear stick after removing the console.
Thanks David
