Title: 105 SPIN-ON OIL FILTER KIT
Post by: alfaboy58 on July 11, 2009, 05:15:53 PM
Hi,

Does anyone out there know of a kit to convert the old cartridge type oil filter to the spin-on type like the 2ltr has? I have a leaky oil filter housing on my 1750 engine and I can't stop it any way I've tried
Cheers

John

John,

Welcome to the list.

There used to be a spin-on kit available through Italservice in Adelaide. It cost about $130.00 but that was a few years ago and I'm not sure whether it is still being sold.

Try contacting them at -

71-73 Gibson Street, Bowden, SA, 5007
Phone +618 8346 4917
Email italserv@camtech.net.au

Let us know how you get on as I'd be interested too.

Regards,
Chris

I bought one from Italservice in Adelaide, about 2 years ago. I was meaning to swap it over the next time I changed to oil / oil filter, but as I have started the resto I didn't see the point.

They are about the $150 mark from memory, my unit is still sitting brand new in the box.

If you can't get hold of one will consider selling the unit as I wont be using it for some time.

Is the housing cracked?
Or is it leaking around the top where the o-ring is situated?
