Title: Anyone used Toyo R888's ?
Post by: Victor Lee on October 04, 2006, 10:19:31 PM
Hi all,

Has anyone used the Toyo R888 R rated tyre?

I've previously ran on the Dunlop D98s, D01s and also considering the D02s.  I believe that the R888s are cheaper than the D02s, but besides price, are there any other advantages?  Or other experiences?

Thanks

Victor

where are you buing from - Meridian?  I believe they have the best price for these as they are a stock item nd they (the TOYO R888's) are becoming more and more popular and not only due to price point.

i have used the TOYO "Proxes" as did a lot of WA competitors.

Colin Goundrey might use them.

They have a LOT of tread when new and are quite squirmy because of this.  I would have the tread cut down to 3mm if you are going to try to use them in an event like the 6hr from brand new.. they will actually last longer that way.  They make good wet weather "R" tyres when brand new (with all that tread...)
