Title: Airbag Sensor - Is there an economical replacement available?
Post by: Rigi on May 01, 2009, 01:13:14 PM

We have a 2001 V6 Spider and the warning light for an airbag has come one (again) - last time it was caused by the drivers sensor being 'knocked' when moving the seat back - solution ...  sensor reset and cable tie used to secure better - the current warning light is the passenger airbag sensor and cannot be reset so the sensor is deemend 'faulty' and has to be replaced - cost for the part $430 - does anyone know of a more economical solution !!! thanks

maybe get a second opinion. the underseat connection is indeed the most common cause for the error.

who has checked it out? a dealer or indy?

:)

independant .... seems to know what he's doing ... certainly rectified the previous warning ... the key this time being that the warning light could not be reset ... hear where you're coming from ... electrics means anything is possible

I would check with a dealer if I were you. Mine recently needed resetting and my independant didn't have the right plug to do it. If your going to get a second opinion I would try the dealer first.

I recently had the airbag warning light come on also. How do I reset it on a 156? I've tried opening the cover under both seats but couldn't manage to open it. Any help greatly appreciated!

Unfortunately it can only be reset by the dealer.
