Title: Mystery Solved - Name on Steering Wheel
Post by: shane wescott on April 19, 2009, 06:25:21 PM
Hi Guys

Just  a quick one. I had puzzled over the name etched into the sports steering wheel in the GTV6 since I picked her up.

Turns out it is of Stig Blomqvist an apparently famous rally driver from Sweden who had his own line of sports steering wheels.

Stig i hear you say, not Stig of Top Gear fame - no but the urban legend ( from wikipedia) is that they initially asked him, he refused, but they decided to stick with the name anyway.

Mystery solved, now everytime I flex the biceps parking the beast, I know who to thank. It was however very good to use around Bathurst :-)

Catch ya

Shane

Sounds cool (and rare.) I'd love to see a photo.

Maybe some Saab nut would give you a gazillion dollars for it  ;D
