Title: sticky brakes on series 1 1750 veloce 1968

please help,i have sticky brakes,problem started today,to release i have to pump brake pedal,problem occured frequently driving to work today,hope its a small problem or even better,it disappears.ciao

Once you develop this type of symptom, it suggests that the brakes have not been routinely serviced by regular bleeding and fluid changes to prevent corrosion of internal parts. You can fix one item only to be troubled by another not long after.

Ideally, you should have the system stripped down and fully recondition the entire set up. At the end of the day when you have a high performance vehicle like an Alfa, your brakes should be up to the job as well.

As for the immediate problem, yes it could be the master cylinder but it could also be a sticking rear bias valve or the rear caliper pistons themselves. As I say, fix it properly and do the lot. It will be money well spent in the end.

Given the unknown mechanical capability of forumphiles, I suggest an Alfa Romeo specialist or a brake specialist. When you are talking about brakes someones life could be at stake and I don't just mean the drivers.

IT WAS THE BRAKE BOOSTER,MILANO WRECKERS SOLD ME AN EXCELLENT RECOND ONE,WAS UP IN SYD IN ONE DAY.
