Title: 159 2.2 JTS exhaust manifold replacement
Post by: jboreham5048 on January 13, 2026, 01:24:28 PM
Hi all, just joined the forum. I have a 159 Q4, my son has a 159 2.2 JTS. My sons car started to develop an exhaust leak around the exhaust manifold and I suspected a gasket issue. When we finally unbolted the manifold from the head I found a crack in one of the runners. So the problem has been identified, welded or replaced but how does the manifold with cats attached come out??? Dimensionally it seems to big to come out the top or the bottom of the engine. Is this an engine out job or tilt the engine or remove the steering rack for the manifold to come out. Anyone done this job, I am grateful for any suggestions. Thanks Jeremy
