Title: I'm Back! '89 164
Post by: Beatle on January 01, 2026, 11:37:18 PM
Hi all,

I'm back in the Alfa fold after a few years away.
Just purchased a 1989 164.
Needs paint, some trim, and general fettling, but dead straight and runs well.
Got me a hoist for Xmas and shouted myself the Alfa for New Years!!!

I'll be looking for spares and tech knowledge.  Mostly need trim parts.

Does anyone do a dash mat for a RHD 164?

What power plant is it fitted out with?

Most important of all, what pet name have we proposed for the car?

Looks pretty nice in that photo! I love the early 12v base models with the auto. Really relaxing cruisers, ideal for weekends away in the country. Easier to find parts for than the Q or the later 24v models also, and fairly easy to work on in general. Congrats, look forward to seeing some updates!  8)

3.0 12V V6  Automatic

Not sure on 'pet' names as yet.  Gimme a few weeks and I'll let you know if it's nasty or nice..... ;D

Yeah it's OK at 20 feet....

It really has a dead straight body and the PO spent a fortune on wheel refurbishment.   Even the driver's door exhibits zero sag, at 260,000kms  :D
