Title: ALFA ROMEO RACING, APRIL 2025 - ONE RACEWAY (FORMERLY WAKEFIELD PARK)
Post by: Mick A on April 09, 2025, 04:19:41 AM
Another great weekend of racing spent with the Veloce Racing Association.
My first time at this circuit, qualified P1 and finished all 5x races in P2.

This time we were part of the MRA Round 2 at One Raceway, and with a field of 32 Alfa's, we were the second largest category of the weekend only beaten in numbers by the Excel series.
Hoping more Victorians can join the field for the next round at Winton Festival of Speed in August this year.

There was the usual tough battles with the boys in the turbo Alfas, and my long time racing nemesis Simon Grierson in his GTV6 3.2 24v. Lapped cars added another element and challenge towards the end of each race.
I'm a little behind in the horsepower department compared to the other cars, but I think I gave them a good run for their money.

This is a fantastic series to run in if you're considering getting involved in motor racing and moving up from sprint events. It's everything racing should be, fun, challenging, but not overly serious, a bunch of likeminded people sharing a laugh and a joke in the pits, then battling it out with all they've got on the track, then having dinner/drinks and laughs each night, some great banter and a great group of people to share the weekend with.

Next round WINTON FESTIVAL OF SPEED, AUGUST 2025!

Nice work Mick. Excellent video quality itself.
:) I was watching your left footwork. I kept thinking when it was out of a job, it looked like it was missing the footrest.

A good number of the plastic versions have now moved to landfill so I made one out of 2mm plate mild steel. Works a treat. May or may not be your thing..

Thanks Colin!

Thanks MD!

Yep I definitely need a footrest. It's on my list of things to do. Only been 20 years of owning this car, can't rush these things...

Cheers!

Hey Mick, here is a photo of the footrest for inspiration. Complete with emery top liner for that extra tense time foot grip. The hard part was painting in the transparent holes.

I'm inspired!

I'll just find an original plastic one. They're light, and I'm lazy. Haha!

Another race from the same day, short clip with a nice little battle.
