Title: Reliable first time car purchase?
Post by: Ratel on January 24, 2025, 03:48:30 PM
Hello. I need some real advice and honest truths about the reliability and overall value in purchasing a second-hand Alfa Romeo Giulietta.

I have little to no car knowledge and I don't want to make a purchase without hearing more opinions or getting some advice. I don't know any mechanics or have any friends/family with any reliable car understanding.

I've tried to do some research of my own, but I still feel unsure and can't make sense of anything I've found.

The one I'm looking at is a 2013 model currently on its second owner with a full logbook and three months of registration. Its current mileage is 123,000km, and it was recently fitted with a new battery.

It has everything I need and is genuinely the prettiest car I've ever seen- I think I'm in love! The asking price is around $10,000 (AUD) which is in my budget and leaves me room for change of ownership charges and registration, etc.

I am organising a time to see the car, but I don't really know what I'll be looking for when I go.

I suppose, rambling aside, I'm asking for a) opinions on the car brand and model b) advice on what to ask about when purchasing a car second hand c) how to not make sure i'm not getting ripped off :)

Is it worth it or am I wasting my time?

G'day, welcome to the forum.....

You've posted this in the wrong section. Try the '940' section further down in this forum.

Should get more help there.

Cheers.
