Title: looking for a 1600 AR00536 engine
Post by: Rex Pirie on October 02, 2024, 07:53:21 PM
Hi everyone,
I have a 1972 GT 1600 Junior that acquired a 1750 engine some time in its life!
I'm looking for a 1600 engine (AR00536*) so I can restore the car to original specs.
As far as I can tell there were only 889 of the GT 1600 Junior made in 1972.
Happy for any advice.
Thanks
Rex

By 1972 I'm pretty sure the 536 series engines had moved to the spin on oil filter instead of the earlier cartridge style used in the GT Veloce.

I do have a 536 Veloce block and head but it won't be period correct for your car.

Thanks Anth73,
Much appreciated.
I might have to settle for as close as I can get to original specs.
Can you PM me your ph number and a photo of the engine?
