Title: Re-installing sunroof drain hose
Post by: GTVeloce on September 29, 2024, 10:29:40 PM
Has anyone had any experience or ideas re-installing the front sunroof drains? I made the mistake of removing the front passenger side sunroof drain and now I can't get it back in!

I am trying to install in the reverse of the way it came out so I am trying to push it back up. I have got it about 2/3 of the way up the A pillar and it appears to hit something solid which I can't get past. What could be obstructing it? Surely it is smooth metal until the top?

I thought it may have been a little piece of metal from the drill hole for the A pillar trim but I can tell the hose has gone an inch or so past that hole so not that.

Needless to say, the other drain hoses will be cleared in situ!

I have a borescope you can borrow.  Have you tried an electricians "snake"?  Pushing it down the pillar then pulling the hose back up?

Dunno if this is possible - but can you thread a length of stiff wire through it and use that to guide it all the way back up?
