Title: 3.2 Brera
Post by: Fast Eddie on January 30, 2009, 04:30:57 PM
Anyone know how many roughly, if any, 3.2litre Brera's are in Oz?

A guy contacted me from the UK today thinking of migrating and bringing his 3.2 Brera with him.

Edward probably hard info: to get, but the 3.2 Lt Brera has been a main stream model of a few years and the 3.2lt is probably their best seller, obviously in the limited numbers that these cars sell. There may also be an issue with cost of compliance plating a UK vehicle in particular but also shipping cots etc.

Also, O/S grey imports are not seen as desirable in the market place and the car will loose a lot of value over here because it wasn't factory Aus delivered. On top of that given the re-sale values on Aussie Alfa's, he may be better to compare what he can get in the UK, what the cost is here second hand for similar model/year and then look at the various costs of bringing the car over and compliance plating the car. In summary I would think he will find its not worth it?

Hope this helps.

With the used car market in UK at the moment I wouldn't rule it out, but you need to take the compliancing cost and drop in value due to import into consideration. In any case I think importing a car makes most sense if you intend to keep the car for yourself, not flog it. Ie, look at how much money you would loose in selling the car in UK then buying a similar Brera in Oz.

thanks for the replies but it is not mine or for me but for a customer, hence the question - how many 3.2 Brera's are in OZ now?
