Title: 2.4 JTDM Limp Mode No Engine Light
Post by: UncleForge64 on January 31, 2024, 09:50:21 PM
Hey guys I have recently bought a 159 2.4 jtdm and every morning it goes into derate/limp mode without a check engine light, where it will only rev to 2k and make nearly no power. Put the negative terminal off and on and drives fine for a minute until this happens about 2-4 times, and I have to repeat this process. Will drive flawlessly the rest of the day. Hopefully someone can enlighten me if they have had a similar issue or know what's going on.
*Has a tune from AlfaMen, tune with an egr and dpf delete from 2016*

The symptoms you describe could be caused by a faulty EGR Valve being stuck open.

If they have done a proper EGR delete replacing the the EGR with a different one won't make any difference as the EGR should have a blanking plate fitted, making the EGR valve itself redundant.

They did blank off the EGR valve with a blanking plate, didn't they?
Or did they just map it out of the ECU and not bother with physically blanking it off?
