Title: GTV6 GTA For Sale
Post by: Dna Dave on January 27, 2009, 06:35:12 PM
It is with great regret that I may have to sell my 1984 GTV6 race car.

Completed not long ago, only been used in 4 events, (3 of them were to set it up) and been repainted after the last event (stone chips from bathurst >:( its never been in an accident) i'm just fussy.

Some features inc,

156 GTA motor, custom headers and plenum (240hp atw's)
EMS engine management
Front Biltstein coilovers
Willwood front 6 spot and rear outboard 4 spot calipers
Twinspark 75 gearbox and tightened diff, brass button clutch
Full body kit and replaced glass with lexan all round
Modified dedion
17 x 8" rims with good race semi slicks
fuel surge tank set up

Car is imacculate and built to the highest standards, starts first time every time and sounds amazing.

P.O.A

Serious enquirys only please

Man, $29k.  Given what this car would have cost to build and develop, that is a great price for a turn key quick car (and I remember being impressed with the times it was doing at Bathurst last year).

Good luck with the sale, if I wasn't so attached to my car I would think about selling it to buy this one.

mmmmm V6 goodness  ;D

It was still being set up then as well, its handling alot better now (John messed around with ride hieght, camber etc), with a bit of luck and if some customers at work decide to stop using me to finance them, i will keep it and put it on a diet and then  :o

Thanks

I love the car, it's a pity I'm about 28K short of the asking price! I better keep buying lotto tickets then. Sigh!

Are they allowing the 24valve cars to run in 2B under the 10 built in a 24 month period "loophole"? Otherwise I can't see the 24v GTV6 being legal in 2B?

Yes, please explain.... I've previously wondered if my 24v could be wangled into Improduction Production, and from a quick glance Marque Sports seems to have slightly more restrictive guidelines on engine changes.  So do tell, how'd you swing that?

You should be able to run the 24valver in IPRA, you'll just be stuck with the minimum weight limit if it's a LM car.

I know this might sound crazy to some of you but how hard would it be to get this street registered?

I've had a couple pretty race orientated street registered cars in the past but i have never gone through the process before as they were already registered when i bought them.

Do you think an engineers cert would be required (after putting some of the interior back)? Im fairly certain a 3L conversion does not require an engineers cert but don't know about a 3.2L... anyone know?
