Title: ALFA ROMEO WARRANTY
Post by: easo on January 24, 2009, 09:13:11 AM
I have a 2004 GTV, the retail delivery advice that the warranty started on the 20/1/2006, and it was not a dealer demonstrator.

No need to saay, i have troubles with my electric windows, that i have put on forum as well .
When i rang Alfa Care , they tell me the warranty started on the 31/05/05, and hence car is not covered for the windows.

The dealer was ALFA -ITALIA , which do not exist now,

is my only choice Office of Fair Trading .
This will be expensive as dealer does not know where to start.
regards

Generally factory warranty starts from the date delivered.  Do you have the original paperwork?

Regardless the 3 years factory warranty has expired as it's now the 24/1/2009.

Cheers

Electric windows are actually relatively simple things. There are switches, wires & motors and thats it. If the dealer doesn't know where to start, I'd take that as a sign to try another dealer or one of the Alfa specialists that advertise with the club.
Chances are its going to be dirty switch contacts, gummed up motor gearbox or motor brush issues. In a new (ish) car the first suspect is goiung to be water (or drink) ingress.
