Title: Jerky Gear Change in ‘City’ Mode
Post by: MonsterMadMarty on May 19, 2022, 08:36:18 AM
I have recently picked up my first ever Alfa - a 2005 156 Selespeed Wagon w 151k on the clock  ;D

It wasn't registered and had been sat for over four years in a paddock! It passed rego inspection yesterday so now time to fix up all the little issues!

One issue of concern is the gearbox!! When using manually it's fine, when in 'City' mode it can be very jerky with it's changes. Especially when cold and under harder acceleration!

Would this just be a case of changing the gearbox oil? Or is it leading to something more sinister?

If just oil, what's the best oil to use? How much is required if doing a complete flush?

Thanks in advance  ;D
