Title: Aftermarket coolant tank and cap fail
Post by: bowds116 on June 01, 2020, 10:40:28 AM
Hi guys, Just thought I'd let you know that I've had a poor run with non OE coolant system parts trying to cook the engine in my GTV 3.0 v6.
First the nice clean new header tank buckled and failed. then after I refitted the old dirty OE tank the aftermarket cap failed... lucky I had an OE cap from the 156 Covid-19 project to replace it with.
The Tank was from EB spares and the cap was from Totally Alfa.
As a result, I am now investigating alloy tank... Thoughts?

Or get a genuine tank from Arese Spares - Sydney or Italian Automotive Spares - Melbourne. Their prices on original parts are exceptional.

A run of alloy coolant tanks is being organised now via the AlfaBB 116 GTV6 forum. Only three tanks available now so better be quick. There's about three AROCA VIC member getting a tank.
