Title: How to connect? - throttle rod at accelerator end
Post by: Alfetta77 on February 22, 2020, 08:35:40 AM
Hi everyone, my 1977 Alfetta GTV came missing the hardware to connect the throttle rod at the accelerator end (see photo). I bought a new throttle rod and some ball joints from Alfaholics, however I am having trouble fitting it. The ball joint with a 5mm shank seems too small for the hole in the rubber bush at the end of the lever that is connected to the accelerator pedal. Do I need a different ball joint, or am I missing a part? Thanks in advance, Mark.

Hi Mark
The linkage supplied looks complete. I have attached 2 x photos of mine that might assist in correct assemble.
cheers

Thanks bonno, your ball joint looks the same size as mine...reckon I am missing another bit that somehow fits into the middle of the bush.

Mine does not have a bush. Refer to the attached photo ie discard bush and bolt on throttle rod in its place. This arrangement will eliminate wear to the bush, as well as it having adjustment to eliminate any play.
