Title: Cable to electronic speedo conversion 79 GTV
Post by: sudsy on December 12, 2019, 09:06:34 PM
So before I pull the trigger on a new speedo  cable, I am wondering about the wisdom, and process of, converting the cable speedo to electronic.

Yes I'd need a later speedo head and sender.. and quick wiring tween the two ....simples

Is there anything else I'd be needing to do..?

Find link on a previous post involving mechanical to electronic speedo conversion for the Alfetta (TS transplant, but considered applicable). Definitely worth a read in making your decision, as well as another point to consider, such as the black dial of the later electronic speedo won’t match the blue coloured rev counter and dial cluster located in the centre of dash.

Thanks Bonno

I skimmed that thread

Oh my word!!

Conversion idea scrapped,, I'll just buy the old fashioned cable..

I just thought it may have been a nice easy elegant conversion..
(as if that's EVER a thing)
