Hi,
Has anyone had any experience with or knowledge on Rota Wheels (Philippine Aluminum Wheels, Inc. (PAWI)?
They manufacture a rim that resembles Minilite / Superlite / Panasport style. I have only seen them for sale on Ebay, generally out of the states. They certainly look the business but does anyone know how they perform on the road / track?
They do a 15 x 7 / 4 x 108 +30 offset which should suit / fit a 105?
Thanks Ash
Hey Ash,
Have noticed these wheels advertised as well, in terms of size and offset (15 x7 +30mm) this would be ideal.
You could run a 195 or 205 tyre without fouling the guards even if you dropped (lowered) it a bit. In comparsion Alfaholics 15 x 7 GTA Veloce replica wheel is virtually identical 15 x 7 +29mm offset and with their fast road and race spec suspensions which have the arse end sitting quite low (as it should be) they have no offset issues. Also there are a lot of 105s going around with Panasports in this size and offset (have a look on the Alfa BB).
In terms of road and track performance cant say but have been told to watch the weight of these replica mini/super lites, as some can be quite heavy. Do they state wheel weight?
In comparision Panasports weigh approx 7.6 kg in this size (race version weighs less but not recommended for road use), whereas the alfaholics GTA replica mentioned earlier weighs in at 7.3 kg or they do a "superleggera' version tipping the scales at 6.7 kg.
Last thing is price the Rota wheels are cheap compared with GTA replica / Panasport, would have been even cheaper before the exchange rate went tits up, saw a set of 4 on ebay a few months ago with a buy it now price of $ 430 US
Hope this helps
Pep
Hey Pep,
Will contact them directly and see what info is availble on weight & track use.
As you said the wheels are more affordable it's usually the shipping that pushes the price up on the sets I have looked at.
18 Racing in the states sell & ship worldwide, shipping varied considerably on either airport pickup or door to door.
cheers Ash
GREAT WHEELS!! perfect fit and VERY light!! US$99 ea and they were here within a week!!
Hi Backto105,
If you don't mind my asking, what were the freight costs?
Cheers,
Nick
Nick,
If you are after a set of wheels like that have a look at the Australian version. Performance wheels
(local branch down in South Dandenong).

From memory they are about $200.00 per wheel. You could even get Mr Rudd to pay for them.
Hi Paul,
Thanks... I'll look into the local version as well.
As for getting Mr Rudd to pay for them... fat chance, unfortunately
Regards,
Nick
