Title: GTV6 GP Brand Name of Original Body Kit
Post by: shane wescott on November 04, 2008, 05:32:35 PM
Hi Guys

I was talking to a mate about the GTV6 gp the other day, but couldn't remember the name on the original GP body kit. Any one know this one. I was telling him this was one of the ways to check if it was a "real" GP.

I am pretty sure it is a two word brand and starts with an "R".

One day I hope to be able to check this by visiting my garage but not yet :-(

Catch ya

Shane

Hi Shane,

Frank got it right except that its Rayton (with a 't') Fissore. There should be a small badge behind the front guards
I'm going to have a look at some of the other GP's at Como Park and see what the other unique features are.

One is a soft rubber boot spoiler, though most seem to have lost these.
My car also has valve covers with the sans serif ALFA ROMERO logo (not the script).
Alfa promotional material talks about a new grille, but I don't know about that one, maybe it was just painted!
Not sure also about the 'isostatic' gear box. Was that introduced on GTV6's before the GP?

Shane, another thing, the motor was altered to comply with ULP regulations. Don't know how.
Also sorry about the 'Romero' spelling in my last response. I could get banished for that!!

Hi Guys

Thanks for the info, that was the name I was after. On the soft spoiler that could be common as my GTV6 has a genuine Zender kit and that also has a soft spoiler.

Lucky for you Alan your status says "Newbie" or you may have been ordered to stand in the corner with the dunces cap on :-)

Hopefully there will be heaps of lovely GP's to look at on Spettacollo Day.

CAtch ya

The three piece spoiler is unique to the GP different to the Zender (three foot soft spoiler)

Not to be confused with the Mark P "Serpent" body kit

The name of the original bodykit is Grand Prix and the designer's name or logo was Rayton Fissore, but this can't guarantee it's an original as anyone could make one of these badge's and stick it on, not hard, best way to check originality is to check identification number's.
Thankyou David.

There is a guy in Sydney that actually make them. I'm pushing him to get some photos. I've been chasing him for a while for a few other Alfisti in the US and other countries. Here is the link.
