Today's nominee, the auto sparky who thought that he could fix a modern, internally regulated 120A alternator with worn brushes and a dead rectifier, by plumbing in an RE55 regulator. Which he then mounted at the top of the strut tower with Tek screws, where it chafed into the bonnet underlay. I have exceeded my per job facepalm quota on this one.
