Title: 156 JTS Battery
Post by: V AR 164 on February 25, 2018, 01:02:33 PM
Hi all,

Just wondering what battery people use in their 156 JTS. Trying to help someone with a 2004 model and the recommended battery on the century website doesn't fit.

If anyone has a pic of one, that would be great!

Cheers, Andrew.

Isn't it a DIN55T?

Info I can offer otherwise (via third party resellers of "genuine" batteries):
71751141 is 242 (L) ×175 (W) ×190 (H) mm, 60A-h, 560CCA
71751140 is same dimensions, same A-h but 320CCA

I note the dimensions imply DIN55T...

Andrew, the DIN53L MF recommended by century is correct. When you say doesn't fit, so you mean the "Foot" or width of the battery is too wide and you cant get the battery clamp to go over the threaded fixing post?

If this is the case you will notice that on top of the moulded foot of the battery there is an additional clip on that raises the foot height. Pull this off the side opposite the post side, you will now be able to slide the battery across and get the battery clamp over the fixing post and bolt it down.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the replies guys,

Indeed it is a DIN53L. Baz you were right in saying that, I realised that the little raiser clip comes off and now fits fine.

Thanks again!
Andrew.

Just a lucky guess.   ;)
