Title: Cleaning - radiator overflow bottle
Post by: Alfetta77 on January 24, 2018, 09:22:28 PM
Hi, the radiator overflow bottle in my 1977 Alfetta GTV probably hasn't been cleaned in 40 years, and has cacky brown deposits all over the inside. Has anyone found a good method for cleaning? I thought of trying drain cleaner as one possibility. I have looked for reproductions but have only found bottles for 105/115's and later GTV's (mine is the steel bumper model). Any advice / ideas gratefully received!

So, you mean they don't crack and get replaced every three years like a 159 one??

Instead of using rice as the video shows you can use the plastic beads that they use in the bottom of aquarium tanks to "Pebble Blast" the inside of coolant tanks, as for the outside, you can also VERY CAREFULLY use a Sand Blast Tank and gun.

Just an alternative solution to the problem.
