Title: Tow hooks
Post by: Campbeli on November 05, 2017, 07:30:24 AM
I'm getting my S2 GT Junior ready for the track so tow hooks are needed - what's usually done?
Cheers, Neil

Hi Neil
Usual thing on the front is to use the front bumper mounts, very easy without bumpers but I'm sure you could do something similar and keep the bumpers.  I.ve seen tow hooks mounted to one of the front ARB mounts, but they are only M8 so i probably wouldn't recommend it

The rear is a bit trickier as there is really nothing of any real structure past the top of the rear wheel arch.  We've got ours going back to our pan hard rod body mount, which probably won't help you out much.   An obvious place is the rear bumper mount, but they only go into the panel work and some of the boot floor, so chance if damaging the car if you actually used the tow point to pull you out of a sand trap or something

For any serious towing the axle is really the only strong enough point but using that brings its own set of issues, but could be done. So sorry no real easy solutions for the rear
