I recently rebuilt my sud gearbox and replaced second gear synchro ring, selector slider and dog teeth.  It was my first time attempting gearbox work. I had a donor gearbox from a 33 which i pulled down first for practice and to strip of useable parts.  If your thinking of doing it yourself this is not a bad idea. New synchro rings, dog rings and sleeves can be sourced on the net, i got some locally and some from overseas. 'sud on the mend' is selling some sud parts and i believe it consists of two gearboxes in melb. Having a donor box was a food way of keeping the cost down as 5th gear synchro sleeve has a side which is not used so can be a good way of refreshing 3-4 sleeve. In my gearbox 2nd was by far the worst but thrid was fairly mangled also.  A lot of the dog teeth had actually been sheered right off.  I never drove either box myself!

As for seals,  i got original corteco seals for the gearbox from spareto.com for a fraction of the cost. I you google around you can get descent prices.

I only replaced dog teeyth on 2 and 3 and got them off donor gearbox 5 and 4 i think.
