Title: Proud new Alfa Owner - 159 Ti, 2.4L, JTD. What are the best oils, coolants etc.?
Post by: Jords.L on July 14, 2017, 09:46:37 AM
Dear all,

Last week I purchased a beautiful secondhand 2010, 159 Ti, 2.4L, JTD and absolutely love it. I've had some experience driving a friends Alfa before, and saw the way he really looked after it.

Therefore to keep mine running well, what are the best oils, coolants, lubricants or anything else anyone would recommend to use for this model.

Thanks

Jords

Welcome!

The 159 ti is a fine car to own and I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

Regarding oil I can't comment with personal experience as my 159s have been petrol fuelled -- so I'll refrain.  Be careful broaching this topic first up though...only 652 posts of robust discussion of engine oil for the petrol burners over on ausalfa following such a request ::):

What I would advise is that you find yourself a trusted specialist from amongst the club's sponsors and see what they use.
