Title: Saggy sun visors
Post by: poohbah on February 27, 2017, 08:26:01 PM
Folks, any simple fixes to correct saggy sun-visor syndrome for an '81 GTV?

They are like two empty sacks, so that when they are folded up, the lower section half-hangs down toward your forehead. Reshaping the wire frame makes no difference.

I had my trimmer split the sunvisors, make new foam and plastic weld them back together. You have to be carefully they don't end up too fat, otherwise the results are excellent.

Was too slow. Visors went the same day.

Will have a go at fixing mine. Shouldn't be too complicated.

I replaced mine ages ago with ones from a different (possibly later) GTV that were all hard plastic as compared to my originals that were soft and saggy with a wire lining. Much, much better.

Yep, mine are the wire lined ones. Maybe I should just try and pump 'em up with expandafoam!  ;D

I'd be interested to know how you get on with this issue. My GT ones are saggers too

I'm inclined to slice em open, pack em with foam, and reseal. Will let you know how it goes.
