Title: Eastlink and Citylink access to Club permit registers
Post by: massiveluvbuddy67 on January 05, 2017, 01:26:19 PM
Fellow Alfisti,

For those of you who have been enjoying using both of the above toll roads gratis in your club platted cars, please be advised the freebie has now, allegedly, come to an end.

Both entities now have access (from VicRoads) to the club permit database.

Happy tolling.

Regards
Phil

I'm not so sure it was ever free. I got pinged for not having the etag in the Alfetta  going to Philip Island one morning about 2 years ago. The fine certainly found its way home.

That is interesting Paul.
I have never had a fine on any H or CH plated car.
I received a courtesy letter form Eastlink on Wednesday indicating that they now had one of my H plated cars on their system.
I rang to enquire as I had not used that car on Eastlink since March and the lady said it is just a courtesy letter to let H plated owners know they now had access to the club permit database from VicRoads.

I would be interested to know if anyone received a similar letter.
I, so far, have only received a letter for one of my cars on club plates.

Sorry Phil  , I should not have said fine . It was a courtesy letter stating that the car was not registered to use city link. A payment was requested. There are 6 cars in the family but citilink only used to allow 4 cars on the one account so there was always a bit of tag shuffle going on . A Breeze etag  account on the other hand will issue as many tags on the one account as you wish.

Yep got a courtesy letter for all my H & CH cars.
I have been using East/City link for years with these cars and have never got a bill.
So I guess Phil is right, they now have our numbers.

Hi all, I'm worried that I inadvertently tipped Shittylink/Cheatlink off in November. I called up to include the Alfetta onto my account and the operator had no idea what a Club Permit was.I first asked the question mind you of "is travel on your road free with a CP?",as a guy I met said it was as he's in the Hotrod Club. The operator played me some lovely tune on her xylophone then said ah yeh yeh you do need to have that car on the account and a plastic tag was sent in the mail. Now sometimes the tag bips, sometimes it doesn't , even though I now know they're watching and know who I am.
