Post by: gtv6sv on November 17, 2016, 02:01:35 PM
Hey guys,

Anyone know where I can buy a brake booster for a 1985 GTV6?

Thanks, Stefan.

I got mine from The Spare Place here in Adelaide. Mine is an 83 but I would suspect they have the same brake booster. Don't forget to prime it with fluid on the bench before installing it when you get it.

Bugger - I only got mine earlier this year... I must have got one of their last ones. try the suppliers listed on the sponsors pages or if desperate the usual international suppliers but shipping is a real biatch. Good luck.

I hope yours failed in a non-collision causing manner. I was lucky mine gave way as I was turning into my driveway - would hate for it to have happened when going for a blast through the foothills like I sometimes do - I would have ended up as a decoration on a gum tree.

Richard Anderson from Avanti Spares has them, including the one that came off my car when the 24 valve motor went in.

Don't worry mate mine is just on its way, still all in one piece haha!

Cheers for that Rowan, I emailed them to see if they have any in Stock.

If I can't find one I'll have to look into rebuilding my own. Can anyone recommend doing someone who rebuilds them?

Car is getting registered in 2 weeks and I'm planning on driving anywhere and everywhere to celebrate on finally getting the car back on the road so definitely want the brake booster to be 100%!!!
