Trees about a metre off the track.  Brilliant.  When men were men, racing-drivers smoked, and sheep were scared.

Speaking of smoking, one race driver synonymous with smoking was(is) Arturo Merzario, watch how he approached the 1977 Monza race in the Alfa 33TT12. The classic Marlboro man complete with cowboy hat. Yeah and men were men, he was one of the drivers that helped pull Niki Lauda from his flaming wreck in 1976.

He still wears the hat today, here at the Targa Florio (Sicily) revival.
