Title: 147 GTA workshop needed in Melbourne
Post by: Smaan on August 08, 2016, 02:59:35 PM
Hi All,
I'm another newbie to the forum.  So please excuse any poor forum etiquette and let me know if I'm out of place.

I'm wanting to do some upgrades on my 147 GTA and am looking for a good mechanic / workshop in Melbourne (East) to do it and need advice.  Until now I've done all the servicing and basic fixing myself, but the following upgrades are beyond my carport.

Wanting to fit:
Q2 diff
new clutch - standard
new extractors - Wizard
new timing belt

The timing belt and water pump were done back at 50K by Lance Dixon in Doncaster ($$$), but we're now at 85K and about 6 years, so it's time.

Looking for any advice on the upgrades and I'd like to know peoples thoughts regarding who is best placed to do these works, i.e. who has experience with engine and gearbox removal on a GTA, and if that is really what is needed ?

I can recommend Maranello Pursang who do good work at a reasonable price. They put in my Q2 while I was in Melbs

Who could they be ???. My favourite workshop in the East for all your Alfa go fast requirements at reasonable rates . Monza Motors in Bayswater. Thanks for the late clue  Mick.

PS ; Hugh ought to know he used to race a GTA
