Noticed a faint smell of fuel last night, checked the tank, the seam has a very slight trace of weeping.
Any one had one resealed or replaced? (we are in Melbourne)
Cheers,
Bruce
I've had similar problems with both my 156s, and it was due to fumes coming from around the top of the fuel pump (which is accessible through armrest hole in back seat). Cost about $300 to get it fixed both times. Not sure if layout is the same in a 159, but probably worth checking if that is where the fuel weep along the seam is coming from. Definitely cheaper than replacing a tank.
Thankyou, I will check it thoroughly tonight. A fellow motor mech just suggested, that the filter or the sender may be the culprit, and to check under the driver's seat.
Fingers crossed. :)
Good luck, hopefully it is just a cheap fix.
