Title: GTA air intake for 2.5L V6 156
Post by: poohbah on May 24, 2016, 05:26:00 PM
So I was browsing e-bay today and started wondering - is there likely to be any noticeable benefit from swapping the stock air intake on my 2.5L 156 (Q-system auto) for a 156 GTA intake?

Or would I just be wasting my money?

I highly doubt it.

I have a high flow pod filter style air intake on my V6 and there is no difference at all. The only benefit is that you get a lot more induction noise (which is awesome!).
If you do want performance gains, you could take off your plenum and 'smooth' out the inside with a dremel to improve air flow.

Andrew.

Cheers Andrew, that's pretty much what I suspected.
