Title: 105 ENGINE REBUILD
Post by: Mark Fletcher on July 05, 2008, 09:50:58 AM
I have only recently got my 1973 2000 GTV back from Maranello Motors in Melbourne.

They have done a fabulous engine rebuild... and at this point I can only highly recommend them.

Bruno has done a great job... and communication was great... I know the test is time and miles but she pulls beautifully... only problem... now I notice all the other mechanical things I want to fix... at least I know who can help.

Once again Maranello Motors in Brunswick... did a great job... as recomended by Ed and some others on this site.

Thanks

Mark

Glad to hear you are happy Mark.  Bruno is a great guy and a fantastic supporter of the club, multiple awards for Best Supporting Business is testament to that.

Great colour on your 105 too.

I agree, stunning colour.

Just a side note, are they the reproduction aluminum alloy Cromodora CD-35 wheels on your alfa? Where did you get them and are you happy with them? I was thinking of going with these or the momo vega's for my 1750 GTV.

Lucas.

Three of them are very light alloy... original Alfa Romeo by Campagnolo - the fourth is also an original Alfa wheel but another manufacturer and slightly heavier. I am looking for a fourth genuine Campagnolo... if anyone has one... stamped e36 14 x 6.

Thanks

Hey all, am trying to find a good engine builder in Sydney for my original 1600 motor (done 180K miles) which is running a bit old and tired. Can anyone recommend some people to start talking to?

My current options i suppose are
- Manning motors
- Franks Pit stop
- Arnarldo & Pino

But are there any specialist engine builders?

Adrian

Adrian,

I dont know of Franks or Arnaldo, but Rob out at Manning Motors is a great guy and for sure knows his way around an Alfa, he builds some very (very) fast race cars so I am sure he can build you a good engine.
